What made you pursue an HR career?
Growing up, my parents owned a restaurant and I was always asking the staff questions; I wanted to understand what brought them to doing this job. My sisters, would share that I fired the gardener when I was 5 years old because he wouldn’t let me make a bucket of bubbles - my Dad re-hired him the next day much to my bubble making disappointment. I recognized early that I wanted to be a part of  finding great talent and helping them find their path.

What’s behind the name Ask Ali Wong?
18+ years in Talent Acquisition has developed a strong vantage point which allows me to cut through information, identify the core problem and develop various solutions. It’s a mix of problem solving and creativity that I’m known for effectively demonstrating. Ask Ali Wong became the response, (From and To) colleagues which began to extend outside of the organization and into a larger external network.

What’s the best advice you have received?
The best advice is sometimes based on a moment your experiencing or something you carry with you through every situation. I was recently told this statement – “Remember when you wanted, what you have right now”. It made me pause and celebrate the goals that I’ve accomplished. #GoYOU #TeamWongAllDayLong
